Inpatient Psychiatrist at Central Regional Hospital

Central Regional Hospital (CRH) is one of three state psychiatric hospitals in NC, has 375 beds, employs over 50 physicians, and is conveniently located near the Triangle area of NC, comprised of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. CRH has a major teaching mission and is a training site for psychiatry residents and medical students from both the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University as well as students from a variety of other disciplines. This environment provides a rich learning environment with weekly Grand Rounds and other educational opportunities. The hospital utilizes a biopsychosocial approach to guide patient assessment and treatment and has a comprehensive psychosocial rehabilitation program geared toward patients with severe and persistent mental illness.

We are currently recruiting for a Psychiatrist on the Adult Admissions Unit (AAU), a 150-bed unit that provides inpatient treatment for adults ages 18 to 64 who require short-term and intermediate stays to help them stabilize for return to the community. There are opportunities to supervise residents and medical students and also to provide electroconvulsive therapy if interested. Partners Behavioral Health Management in Gastonia, NC

Partners is seeking an Associate Medical Director. Partners is a Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organization that contracts with the NC Department of Health and Human Services to manage behavioral health services for eight counties in NC. Job Summary:
The Associate Medical Director (AMD) in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer provides medical leadership to the Clinical Operations Department. The AMD provides oversight and/or ensures medical necessity, authorization/non-authorization of service requests, practice guidelines, utilization management (UM) procedures, UM plan implementation, care management activities, quality improvement projects, stakeholder relationships, qualifications of provider, and management of adverse incidents and sentinel events.

Job Requirements:
Completion of Medical school and of a residency in Psychiatry and child psychiatry are required; must be Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; must be licensed to practice in at least one state and obtain an unrestricted NC license to practice medicine. Five years’ experience in psychiatry and child psychiatry and experience in dealing with the intellectually/developmentally delayed population.

Managed care and community mental health experience, or experience with Medicaid and other publicly served population strongly preferred. Minimum five years of clinical experience is preferred.

Psychiatric Positions

Daymark Recovery Services, a non-profit provider of mental health and substance abuse services in over 30 North Carolina counties, is seeking psychiatrists to fill several positions in the mountains and central NC. Work consists of psychiatric evaluations and medication management of a diverse population of patients treated in a team environment.

Work can be done on-site or via telepsychiatry. Daymark does inpatient, outpatient, and ACTT work. It employs both general and child psychiatrists. Part-time contract and full-time salaried positions with benefits available.  Positions often qualify for loan repayment through NC Office of Rural Health.
